Wrong Way to Hope – A Story of Young Adults and Cancer

A remarkable group of Canadians embark on a journey of a lifetime down one of the most remote rivers in the lower 48. The core expedition members are all  cancer survivors. Led by 25-year-old Mike Lang, who finished treatments just a few months before the voyage, this inspirational group of young adults share their personal stories and apply the lessons they learned from their cancer struggle as together they battle a completely new set of trials on the river. The result is an extraordinary journey of fear, uncertainty, and seemingly insurmountable emotional and physical challenges combined with strength, humor, beauty, and a rare insight into the lives of one of Canada’s most  unrecognized populations.

JWCF staff befriended Mike Lang at the recent cancer survivor climbing camp in Utah that was put on by First Descents and that JWCF helped to fund and staff.
